Let Carly's Family Make Memories Again 💜
These photographs tell the story of a little girl who grew up surrounded by family, love, laughter and ordinary moments that now mean so much.
The tragic loss of Ashley Smylie has changed this family forever. Nothing can undo that loss, and Ashley deserves to be remembered with love and dignity.
Carly's family has also spoken of their wish for compassion rather than prosecution. They knew Carly as the child they loved, and they struggled to reconcile what happened with the girl they knew.
Today, the family continues to live with grief, separation and the pain of precious time passing. Saturday prison visits cannot replace birthdays around the family table, spontaneous hugs, shared laughter or the simple joy of being together.
This family has already lost Ashley. Our hope is that they will not lose every chance to build a future with Carly, too.
We believe Carly deserves a meaningful opportunity for rehabilitation, growth and, the possibility of returning to her loved ones, not to erase the past, but to allow new memories to be made beyond prison walls.
